''HOLY FOKIN' San Fermin...... it´s RAINING CHAMPAGNE and SANGRIA EVERYWHERE, a kind of flour or cornmeal is being thrown everwhere, PEOPLE are SINGING and LAUGHING and CHANTING and spraying you and hugging you and THEY MEAN IT...the EUSKADI / Basque people are something else, you sense it right away. THERE IS A PLAYFULness and SWEETness in the air you breathe here... YOU feel swept away with a joy, carried on its shoulders.. beginning at opening day, especially when the entire crowd gets quiet, lifts their red scarves into the air in unison (one does not wear the red bandana until the mayor declares the festival de San Fermin opened) and then goes crazy as the rockets red blare. Your clothes are trashed and you couldn´t be happier... '' Jordan, going nuts on San Fermin, 2007.
