THE BEST BARS
TRAVEL BAR
(c/ Boqueria 27. Just off La Rambla, one street up from Mc Donald's and KFC)... Ok, so we know this place is a little rough around the edges... but its friendly English-Speaking atmosphere and HAPPY HOURS make this place an awesome place to meet other travellers. Also has wi-fi, 1 euro dinners for backpackers!!!
Black Sheep
...Beer hall/drinking den...huge wooden tables seating 10 people (plus people on laps, passed out on the table etc)...dartboards, football, pool tables...barn feel...c/ de Les Sitges 5

THE BEST LOUNGE / COCKTAIL BARS
NUBAA
(Paseo de Colon 11...down the bottom of La Rambla to the Columbus statue, then turn left and walk along the street opposite the port)...modern lounge bar with the best cocktails in Barca (in our opinion anyway) and some great decent-priced food with sweet tunes...sexy interior decor using re-cycled stuff from a local artist...start ya night here before hitting the clubs...Great mix of travellers, Swedish and Americans studying Spanish, and locals...oh, and they have 1/2 PRICE COCKTAILS HERE UNTIL 11PM!
LA FIONA
(c/ Banys Vells 15...in the trendy Born area)...chill out beds and velvet sofas, perfect for a harem...quality international fusion cuisine (if not somewhat stingy with the portions as is the fashion these days!)...chill-out spot
PRINCESSA 23
c/Princesa 23...yeah, good spot with cocktails, nice-looking and international food too!

OTHER BARS NOT TO BE MISSED
CLANDESTINE - PIPA SOCIAL CLUB
For the not so bright, clandestine means SECRET (we, ourselves didn't know the meaning of the word, we just looked it up on the thesaurus). OK, so we aint gonna tell you where it is...'cos then it wouldn't be really clandestine then, would it? There's no sign out front, you just buzz on the doorbell and they will let you up. Unique, 6 bedroom apartment converted into a bar...pool tables...and you'll feel real SPECIAL 'cos you found it!
FAIRY BAR - BOSQUE DE LES FADES
We don't mean fairy bar because it is for queers (no we dont have anything against queers, eh, let's be politically correct, gays)... We mean fairies in forests and fairy-tale...waterfalls, caves and trees...behind the wax museum, just off La Rambla
TAPAS AND FREE CAVA!!!...LA CHAMPANERIA...
(Reina Cristina 7)...buy some tapas and get a free bottle of cava...get smashed whilst pretending to be cultural!
